Hoban Construction is moving to expand its future-oriented smart infrastructure business with electronics and ICT specialist "SOLUM."
Hoban Construction said on the 6th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SOLUM at the Hoban Park headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to build next-generation smart construction infrastructure.
At the signing ceremony, about 10 officials from both companies attended, including Moon Gab, head of management at Hoban Construction, and Yoo Dong-gyun, vice president of SOLUM.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to generate synergy in promising future business areas by combining Hoban Construction's construction and development capabilities with SOLUM's advanced ICT and energy technologies, including AI data centers, next-generation energy, and the development of future-oriented residential and commercial spaces.
Hoban Construction will seek new business opportunities in the Smart City and smart construction sectors and lead large-scale projects. It plans to maximize collaboration synergy by leveraging the capabilities of Hoban Group affiliates, including Hoban Industry. SOLUM will supply ICT, Internet of Things (IoT), and energy solution technologies and products, and create future growth engines through joint marketing with Hoban Group.
Moon Gab, head of management at Hoban Construction, said, "This agreement is a meaningful first step to accelerate digital transformation in the construction sector and to build new residential infrastructure that combines energy efficiency and smart technologies," adding, "We will take the lead in realizing a sustainable Smart City through cooperation with SOLUM."
