Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) said on the 5th that it will take part in the "2025 Smart Construction Expo," held at Ilsan KINTEX, and unveil a standard modular housing unit incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) appliance technology.
The "2025 Smart Construction Expo" is hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and co-organized by related public institutions including LH. It was prepared to discover and exchange smart construction technologies and to promote innovation in the construction industry. It will be held at Ilsan KINTEX for three days from today through the 7th.
Through this event, LH will present future smart residential spaces that incorporate AI technology, along with the results of introducing LH's smart construction technologies such as OSC.
At the exhibition, LH will unveil for the first time a modular housing unit built to a standard floor plan, reflecting the results of the "standardization study of modular housing design." The standard floor plan is central to a mass production system based on the standardization and productization of modular housing design, and it can be stacked up to 30 floors with identical structural modules to realize economies of scale.
Through technological collaboration with Samsung Electronics, LH will present a future residential environment that combines modular construction methods with AI appliance technology. From the design stage of modular housing, Samsung Electronics' "AI Home Solution" is being adopted to create and showcase an environment that reflects various AI appliances and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, including refrigerators, induction cooktops, integrated washer-dryers, and robot vacuum cleaners, within modular housing.
LH is pushing to lead high-quality OSC technology innovation through the construction of the nation's largest-scale (Sejong 6-3 Living Zone UR1,2 blocks, 412 dwellings) and tallest (Uiwang Chopyeong A4 block, 22 floors) PC·modular housing. In tests of a mock-up dwelling at the Uiwang Chopyeong A4 block on Sept., its performance in reducing floor impact noise was confirmed, including grade 1 for light-weight impact noise and grade 1 for heavy-weight impact noise.
Oh Joo-heon, head of LH's Public Housing Division, said, "It is meaningful that we can show the future smart residential spaces LH will create and the changes in the construction industry through the Smart Construction Expo," adding, "We will continue to lead innovation in residential technology not only through technology development such as standardizing modular housing design, but also through convergence with different industries, as in this collaboration with Samsung Electronics."
