Sampyo Group is moving to expand the use of high-quality winter cold-resistant concrete and strengthen its quality competitiveness.

Sampyo Industry, an affiliate of Sampyo Group, a construction base materials specialist, said on the 5th that it signed a technology partnership agreement for the special concrete brand "Bluecon Winter" with Jeongan Remicon, Sejong Remicon, and Jeongan Remicon Ascon on the 23rd of last month.

Through this agreement, Sampyo Industry plans to introduce a high-performance concrete quality system based on its proven cold-resistant concrete technology and expand it to small and medium-sized ready-mix companies to support strengthening quality competitiveness in winter.

Bluecon Winter is a winter cold-resistant concrete that Sampyo Industry released in 2018 as the first in Korea, and it is designated as Construction New Technology No. 995 by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Recently, it officially received recognition for the excellence of its eco-friendly concrete technology by obtaining green technology certification from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for its carbon reduction effect.

Bluecon Winter can be used even at minus 15 degrees and is characterized by achieving a compressive strength of 5 megapascals (MPa) within 36 hours after placement with only surface vinyl curing, without separate protection and accelerated heat curing. 1 MPa is the strength that allows concrete to withstand a load of 10 kg per ㎠.

The three companies participating in this agreement have established a concrete supply system based on Bluecon Winter technology and set joint goals to improve on-site construction quality, prevent strength degradation in winter, and enhance supply reliability. The three companies will officially display the title of "large enterprise certified plant" and actively leverage brand credibility when bidding for public works and large private sites.

The "Bluecon Winter" technology is scheduled to be expanded and introduced early next year to Jeongan Industry in Chungju and Sejong Remicon, as well as Jeongan Remicon in Jincheon and Green Remicon in Jecheon.

Park Min-yong, executive director at Sampyo Industry (in charge of special concrete), said, "Through this technology partnership, by applying Sampyo Industry's high-performance concrete technology to small and medium-sized ready-mix companies, we have laid the foundation to resolve winter quality concerns and provide large-enterprise-level certified quality to local construction sites," and added, "We will push for further technology expansion going forward to help strengthen the quality competitiveness of Korea's construction industry."
