WOOMI Construction Co. will develop a construction preliminary estimate platform together with the construction tech Start - Up "FOBECON."
WOOMI Construction Co. said on the 28th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with FOBECON on the 24th at FOBECON's headquarters in Pangyo, Seoul, to develop a construction preliminary estimate platform.
The construction preliminary estimate platform is a system that automatically calculates the quantities of raw materials and expense when CAD drawings are entered.
This project was promoted as part of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "2025 public-private cooperation open innovation support project." It was prepared to revitalize a demand-based industrial ecosystem through cooperation between large and mid-sized companies and innovative Start - Ups.
FOBECON is a Start - Up that develops and supplies construction-specialized software and was selected as a family company by the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT).
Conventional construction estimates often relied on past performance, leading to differences in speed and accuracy depending on the level of expertise.
The platform under development can improve accuracy and efficiency by producing quantities and estimates along with drawings that show the calculated results when CAD drawings are uploaded without a separate conversion process.
An official at WOOMI Construction Co. said, "We plan to improve the precision of preliminary estimates and, in the long term, strengthen work productivity and cost management efficiency through automation."
