Hanwha's construction division said on the 28th that it has nominated Kim Woo-seok, chief financial officer of the strategy division at Hanwha Group, as the new CEO.
Kim Woo-seok, the incoming CEO, has worked for more than 30 years at Hanwha Group in management and finance and is regarded as a "finance expert."
Born in 1968, the nominee Kim graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in applied statistics and joined Hanwha Group in June 1992. From 2019 to 2022, Kim served as CEO of Hanwha Convergence.
Going forward, the incoming CEO Kim plans to focus capabilities on expanding quality orders at Hanwha Construction, strengthening financial soundness, and enhancing safety management.
Kim Seung-mo, the current CEO who has led Hanwha's construction division since September 2022, will move to head defense strategy within the strategy division at Hanwha Aerospace.
A Hanwha Group official said, "Through this personnel move, we placed executives whose expertise, experience, and global business capabilities have been verified, strengthening the company's mid- to long-term competitiveness," and added, "Under the responsibility of the new CEO, we will form a new organization, establish next year's management strategy early, and push ahead with business plans."
