Cold-resistant concrete developed by Sampyo Group earned government green technology certification, officially recognizing its carbon-reduction impact and the excellence of its eco-friendly process technology.
Sampyo Group, a construction base-materials company, said on the 28th that its special concrete product "Bluecon Winter" obtained green technology certification from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Green technology product certification is a system granted to technologies that save energy and resources and minimize emissions of greenhouse gases and pollutants, based on the Carbon Neutrality Framework Act. Eight ministries, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, conduct the review.
Through this certification, "Bluecon Winter" was recognized for its eco-friendly process technology that contributes to reducing carbon emissions.
"Bluecon Winter," first released in Korea by Sampyo Industry in 2018, is Korea's first winter cold-resistant concrete. The product can be used even at minus 10 degrees Celsius and is characterized by achieving a compressive strength of 5 megapascals (MPa) within 48 hours of placement with only surface curing, without separate protection or accelerated heat curing. It can shorten construction time and secure uniform quality, resulting in high satisfaction on site.
In June, Sampyo Group signed a technology cooperation memorandum of understanding with Geonwon Group, expanding the application scope of "Bluecon Winter" while strengthening brand competitiveness. It is providing a total solution for cold-resistant concrete to secure optimal quality and is also offering customized construction support tailored to the characteristics of each site.
The core of the special concrete that Sampyo Group brings to market lies in eco-friendly technologies such as shorter curing times and carbon-reduction effects. To that end, the S&I Center, which oversees the group's technology research, is focusing its capabilities on developing eco-friendly materials and construction methods.
