Dongbu Corporation said on the 28th that it won an exclusive contract to build the "Samsung Electronics Gochang CDC (Central Distribution Center) logistics center" in Gochang County, North Jeolla Province.
The total construction cost is 157.1 billion won, and the construction period is about 25 months.
The project is to build a warehouse facility with a total floor area of 50,795 pyeong (a two-story warehouse wing and a four-story support wing). It will be developed as an advanced warehouse-type logistics center that combines ambient-temperature logistics with an automated system.
In particular, from the early design stage, it is to be built as a sustainable logistics center that reflects environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards, including the application of energy-saving equipment, the use of eco-friendly and recycled materials, and the introduction of a low-carbon process management system.
A Dongbu Corporation official said, "This order is the result of Dongbu Corporation's construction reliability and quality competitiveness being recognized by an ultra-large global private client like Samsung Electronics," adding, "We expect it to serve as a bridgehead for expanding orders in the smart logistics sector going forward."
