GS Engineering and Construction said on the 20th that it won the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award with "Maple Xi" at the 15th Korea Landscape Awards in 2025.
The Korea Landscape Awards is a prize jointly hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Environmental Landscape Development Foundation to discover outstanding landscape spaces. The judging proceeds in three stages—a first-round document review, a second on-site evaluation, and a third public participation evaluation—and is regarded as the largest event in the domestic landscape field.
GS Engineering and Construction's "Maple Xi" took as its motif the maple trees that existed before reconstruction. Based on the complex landscape concept of "staging a second spring with maple trees," it incorporates landscaping that uses maple trees.
"Maple Xi," which GS Engineering and Construction completed this year and supplied in Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, is a large complex of 3,307 households and is being evaluated as GS Engineering and Construction's new landmark complex following Banpo Xi. Maple Xi showcased Xi's landscaping by presenting various water features so residents can experience distinctive spaces throughout the complex.
Meanwhile, GS Engineering and Construction swept all three of the world's top design awards in 2025, including a win at the U.S. IDEA Design Award in September.
