Kumho Engineering & Construction said on the 17th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with environmental design specialist "RadioB" (RadioB) to jointly develop upcycled landscaping facilities.
RadioB is a corporations that uses waste materials to produce rest-area facilities based on ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC, Ultra High Performance Concrete) and 3D printing.
The two companies will use waste materials generated at construction sites to develop upcycled landscaping facilities for residents. The facilities will be introduced at Atera complexes where Kumho Engineering & Construction's landscaping specialty brand "Artsis" (Artsis) is applied.
RadioB will sort and process discarded safety helmets and other items from Kumho Engineering & Construction sites for use in making landscaping facilities. Kumho Engineering & Construction will take part in design development for Atera residents.
Upcycled landscaping facilities are set to be expanded to Atera complexes. Upcycled benches and large planters have already been installed at the "Bundang Atera" complex in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and the "Gangneung Gyodong Atera" complex in Gangneung, Gangwon Province.
A Kumho Engineering & Construction official said, "Through collaboration with RadioB, we will revive discarded resources as valuable spatial asset," adding, "We will provide a differentiated rest experience for Atera residents."
