Dongbu Corporation said on the 13th that it has completed construction of the National Fire Service Hospital, Korea's first specialized medical institution for firefighters.
The National Fire Service Hospital is a project commissioned by the National Fire Agency and was built in Chungcheongbuk-do's Eumseong County within the Chungbuk Innovation City, with two basement levels and four above-ground floors, and a total of 302 beds.
Considering the occupational characteristics of firefighters, the hospital is equipped with specialized treatment facilities, including: ▲ burn treatment center ▲ musculoskeletal rehabilitation center ▲ mental health center ▲ health promotion center. A Firefighter Health Research Institute was also established to systematically study related conditions.
As Korea's first specialized hospital for firefighters, Dongbu Corporation applied specialized designs that enhance cleanliness in the wards and each center, optimize patient flow, and increase space utilization efficiency.
The National Fire Service Hospital is also expected to provide public medical services for local residents in addition to specialized care for firefighters.
In addition to the completion of the National Fire Service Hospital, Dongbu Corporation has experience building numerous medical facilities, including Seoul Gangnam Sacred Heart Hospital, Korea University Guro Hospital, Busan Centum General Hospital, and Changwon Gyeongsang National University Hospital. Earlier this year, it began construction of Jeonbuk National University Hospital in Gunsan, and it is currently carrying out projects such as the Ilsan Hospital Integrated Health Management Center and the transfer and new construction of Samcheok Medical Center.
A Dongbu Corporation official said, "We have successfully completed Korea's first specialized hospital for firefighters that protects the lives and health of firefighters," and added, "Drawing on the technical expertise and quality control capabilities we have accumulated by building various medical facilities, we will work to complete the hospital projects currently under construction with a high level of finish."
