The signage design system Xi Signscape, developed by GS Engineering and Construction, was honored with an award at the 2025 Good Design Award for its design excellence.
Xi Signscape is an integrated signage system applied to the Xi brand, a new design concept that goes beyond simple wayfinding to design user flow and spatial experience together. The brown-toned signage blends naturally with architectural finishes during the day, and at night creates a refined mood with soft lighting, enhancing residents' aesthetic satisfaction.
In the underground parking lot, MOONLIGHT, a lighting sign with the concept of "moonlight," provides clear wayfinding and an emotional spatial experience even in dark areas. The design stands out for creating a bright and stable visual environment that also considers users' psychological comfort.
The design was pilot-applied at the Maple Xi site, achieving high user satisfaction, and was recognized for its completeness as a systematic design system that can be flexibly applied to various architectural environments.
A GS Engineering and Construction official said, "Xi Signscape was planned as an intuitive and considerate guidance system for all generations under the philosophy of designing users' movement paths and experiences, and defining the atmosphere of the space," adding, "We hope user-experience-centered design that goes beyond functionality becomes the new standard for multifamily housing."
Meanwhile, the Good Design Award is Korea's most prestigious design award, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Insitute of Design Promotion, which comprehensively evaluates creativity, completeness, and practicality to select outstanding designs.
