The area around Najin Shopping Center Buildings 10, 11, and 14 in Yongsan Electronics Market will be transformed into an innovation hub for future new industries.
The Seoul city government said on the 25th that it approved with modifications the "Yongsan district unit plan (amended) and detailed development plan for special planning districts 4 and 6 in the Yongsan Electronics Market district" at the 16th Urban and Architectural Joint Committee meeting held on the 24th.
The sites for Najin Shopping Center Buildings 10 and 11 (Special Planning District 4) and Building 14 (Special Planning District 6) are located at the Yongsan Electronics Market intersection, the gateway and core location of the Yongsan Electronics Market area.
Under this planning decision, Special Planning District 4 will house business facilities centered on new industry uses (such as AI and ICT) and neighborhood living facilities in a 22-story above-ground building (total floor area 44,814 square meters, floor area ratio 949%), and Special Planning District 6 will have a 20-story above-ground building (total floor area 48,147 square meters, floor area ratio 909%) with the same uses.
Within the project site, an open indoor space on the lower floors (first floor) and open green spaces will be created. The plan is to secure rest areas and green ecological spaces that citizens can use year-round.
Under the public contribution plan, a public support facility will be built on the site of Public Parking Lot No. 5 of the electronics market. The city projected that construction permitting procedures will move forward in the first half of next year.
