Samsung C&T Construction institutional sector said on the 21st that Raemian Green Cascade won the bronze award in the environment category at the 2025 IDEA (International Design Excellence Award).
Established in 1980, the IDEA Design Award is North America's top design competition, co-hosted by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and the U.S. business weekly BusinessWeek.
Each year, it selects the best designs by institutional sector based on comprehensive criteria such as design innovation, user benefits, and social responsibility, and is regarded as one of the world's top three design awards along with the iF Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award.
Raemian Green Cascade is a space in the Raemian One Bailey complex that overcomes a concrete retaining wall with a landscaping solution, reimagined as a series of landscape terraces that step down a total height of 2.5 meters over five drops. Composed of green space, water features, and rest facilities, the space uses moss, which has the property of absorbing harmful substances, to create a residents' rest area where one can relax as if in a deep, misty forest—its hallmark design.
With this IDEA win, Samsung C&T became the first Korean builder to win all of the world's top three design awards solely in the landscaping field. It won a main award at the Red Dot Design Award last year for the One Bailey complex's "Anytime Playground," and a main award at the iF Design Award in 2022 for the La Classy complex's "four-seasons green wall pergola."
Raemian One Bailey has won a total of six awards in landscaping, including this IDEA win. It received four awards at global design competitions such as the Asia Design Prize and the Red Dot Design Award, and two in the landscaping field, including the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) Award and the Nature Environment Award.
