HDC Hyundai Development Company said on the 10th that it carried out an executive safety inspection at Section 12 of the Indeogwon–Dongtan double-track railway to strengthen safety management at underground construction sites.
HDC Hyundai Development Company said it is strengthening its regular on-site executive safety inspections in step with the government's recent push to expedite the early establishment of a self-regulatory prevention system. In particular, it noted that Section 12 of the Indeogwon–Dongtan double-track railway, the site subject to this inspection, is now fully advancing underground work, so it is meaningful in that the company will thoroughly prevent accidents and disasters and put the creation of a safe site first.
Chief Executive Jeong Gyeong-gu of HDC Hyundai Development Company, Infrastructure Division Head Kim Young-han, and other executives and employees took part in the inspection. Key inspection items included working conditions inside the tunnel and the status of temporary earth-retaining structures in the track construction section entering the rail yard within the railway protection zone, as well as the shaft sections.
Jeong said, "We will aim to achieve a zero-accident site through the establishment of an organic safety management system between headquarters and the field and through constant safety inspections," adding, "We must create an environment where workers can work and return home safely, and establish an effective safety management system."
Meanwhile, HDC Hyundai Development Company conducted a joint on-site safety inspection by management and the labor union in Aug. to create a safe working environment. It also plans to strengthen on-site safety management by building AI (artificial intelligence)- and DX (digital transformation)-based safety management and training systems in line with the flow of the fourth industrial revolution, such as reinforcing the functions of the on-site closed-circuit (CC)TV control center and introducing a cloud-based drone platform.
