Bando Construction announced on the 3rd that it has held a meeting with the representatives of its partner companies to prevent industrial accidents and create a safe work environment.
At this meeting with partner company representatives, key keywords representing the commitment to safety culture, such as 'strengthening industrial accident prevention capabilities,' 'spreading safety culture,' and 'cooperative development efforts,' were repeatedly emphasized.
Since the full-scale implementation of ESG management, Bando Construction has been working to establish and implement safety and health management policies that encompass both the headquarters and job sites. It also supported small partner companies that have difficulties in establishing their own systems by setting up a system for mutual safety inspections and deriving improvement measures between the headquarters and job sites. In fact, Bando Construction provided specialized consulting for partner companies to establish their safety and health systems in the first half of this year.
The consulting for building safety and health systems was conducted from April to July. It provided support for each partner company, starting from assessing their current status, confirming on-site systems, and presenting improvement plans.
A meeting with the representatives of partner companies was also held at the Goyang Janghang Kaivee Ubora construction site to strengthen the commitment to prevent the recently increasing industrial accidents and to create a safe work environment.
The meeting was attended by 14 representatives of partner companies responsible for frame, steel frame, earthworks, installation, electrical, telecommunications, and fire service works under the supervision of Lee Jeong-ryeol, head of the construction division.
Efforts to prevent possible safety accidents that can occur during the construction process are ongoing. Bando Construction conducts specialized safety inspections of construction machinery currently in operation at all job sites on a quarterly basis, while monthly, an executive from the headquarters directly carries out safety inspections of each job site under construction.
After the on-site safety inspections, additional improvement points are derived based on the inspection results, and excellent improvement measures are disseminated to each site to continuously share the necessity and methods of safety inspections.
To strengthen industrial accident prevention capabilities, a disaster prevention meeting for safety and health managers was also held on the 25th of last month at the headquarters. It was attended by the safety and health team responsible for on-site safety, major executives including Lee Jeong-ryeol, head of the construction division, and safety and health management practitioners. The main topics of the meeting included trends in government stabilization policies, the management status of the Safety and Health Management System (KOSHA-MS), major disaster cases, and measures to prevent recurrence.
