The Yeouido Daekyo Apartment, the first project site of the Seoul Fast Integrated Planning Advisory Project, has received project implementation approval.
The Yeouido Daekyo Apartment Reconstruction Maintenance Project Association announced on the 29th that it has obtained reconstruction project implementation approval from the Yeongdeungpo District Office and will begin full-scale project promotion.
This project implementation plan approval was achieved 1 year and 7 months after the establishment of the association on January 26 last year. The Yeouido Daekyo Apartment is the first project site under the Fast Integrated Planning Advisory Project. It is being evaluated as a representative model case because it simplified the procedures through public-private cooperation, shortening the authorization process that usually takes an average of about 10 years.
Located in the Yeouido International Financial District, the Yeouido Daekyo Apartment is set to transform from its current size of 12 floors and 576 units to a maximum of 49 floors, 4 buildings, and 912 units through reconstruction.
Key donated acceptance facilities include a multi-complex cultural and sports center. The center will have a total floor area of about 11,000 square meters. Various convenience facilities, including a swimming pool, golf practice range, yoga room, and climbing zone, are planned. A 'sky community' offering a panorama view of the Han River will also be provided on the top floor of the apartment.
The Yeouido Daekyo Apartment Reconstruction Association selected Heatherwick Studio, a world-renowned design and architecture firm, as the specialized designer in July. Once a construction company is selected, the plan is to build residential facilities applying the specialized design in conjunction with the contractor.
The Daekyo Apartment aims to finalize the selection of a construction company by October and plans to obtain management disposition approval in the first half of next year, with relocation to begin in the second half.
Jeong Hee-sun, the chairperson of the Daekyo Apartment Reconstruction Association, said, "With the acquisition of this project implementation approval, we have completed the major administrative procedures for reconstruction," and noted, "We will work to create top-level residential facilities by collaborating with Heatherwick Studio, the design firm, and the construction company to be selected in October."
