On the morning of the 27th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Construction Organizations Association will hold a ceremony commemorating 'Construction, a Promise for Our Dreams and Future' at the Construction Hall.
The ceremony will be attended by about 700 people, including Minister Kim Yoon-deok of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, over 20 members of the National Assembly including Chairman Maeng Sung-kyu of the National Assembly's Transport Committee, Chairman Han Seung-gu of the Korea Construction Organizations Association, Chairman Yoon Hak-su of the Korea Specialty Contractors Association, and government award recipients and their families.
During the ceremony, a total of 111 awards, including medals, presidential citations, prime minister's citations, and ministerial citations from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, will be presented to those who have contributed significantly to the development of the construction industry.
The Gold Tower Industrial Medal will be awarded to Kim Sang-soo, Chairman of Hanlim Construction, for successfully leading major national projects for 35 years and contributing to construction development. The Silver Tower Industrial Medal will be awarded to Lee Seong-soo, CEO of Shinwoo Engineering, and Jeong Dal-hong, Chairman of Seongbo Engineering, for their contributions to the development of specialty construction and mechanical equipment construction.
The Bronze Tower Industrial Medal will be awarded to Lee Yong-ho, CEO of Shinseong Construction, and Jang Se-hyeon, CEO of Donggeuk Construction, along with Lee Seon-koo, CEO of Daehung Construction, for their contributions to national infrastructure development.
The Industrial Prize will be awarded to Im Geun-hong, CEO of Yulim Construction, among three others, the presidential citation will be awarded to Hong Jin-young, CEO of Taebaek Development Machinery, among six others, the prime minister's citation will be awarded to Lee Hoon-gu, CEO of Shindo General Construction, along with a total of six people, and the ministerial citation from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will be awarded to Jeong Gil-mo, CEO of Samwon General Construction, among a total of 90 people.
During this ceremony, a declaration will be read to share awareness of issues regarding construction safety and to emphasize the construction industry's commitment to actively participating in the government's safety policies to eradicate severe accidents at construction sites and innovate construction safety culture.
Minister Kim Yoon-deok will commend the hard work and dedication of construction workers and will state, 'We will actively support the expansion of dwellings supply, the introduction of smart construction technology, and overseas construction ventures to help the construction industry overcome challenges of low growth and economic recession and leap into the future.'
He will also emphasize, 'We will do our utmost to improve the industry's structure and establish a safety culture so that construction sites can become trustworthy and safe workplaces for the public.'
