Kumho Engineering & Construction held an opening ceremony for the Nhon Trach Bridge on the 19th and announced that the bridge has been fully opened as of the 20th. The Nhon Trach Bridge is a bridge that connects Ho Chi Minh, the economic center of southern Vietnam, with Dong Nai Province.
With this opening, vehicle traffic started at 7 a.m. on the 20th, and it is expected that traffic congestion on the Ho Chi Minh-Dong Nai section will be alleviated. The opening ceremony was attended by over 70 participants, including officials from the Vietnamese central and local governments and representatives from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of The Export-Import Bank of Korea.
The Nhon Trach Bridge is a 2.6 km long, four-lane bridge that crosses the Dong Nai River and directly connects Ho Chi Minh City with the Long Thanh-Cho Zai Expressway. It is a large-scale infrastructure project commissioned by the My Thuan Project Management Unit (PMU) under the Vietnam Ministry of Transport, with funding support from the EDCF. Kumho Engineering & Construction took sole charge of the construction, which was completed about three years after breaking ground in September 2022. The total project cost is approximately 100 billion won.
Jo Wan-seok, president of Kumho Engineering & Construction, said, "The Nhon Trach Bridge is a key infrastructure that contributes to enhancing the economy and residents' lives in southern Vietnam," adding, "Based on our accumulated technological capability and construction experience, we will continue to carry out excellent infrastructure projects abroad."
