Bando Construction announced on the 13th that it recently carried out a 'Safety Relay Campaign' and a safety and health event to strengthen its commitment to safety practices.
Bando Construction has recorded 'ZERO' major accidents for six consecutive years since 2019. The achievement of Bando Construction's safety record is based on the principles of 'safety management and the spirit of leading by example,' emphasized by Chairman Kwon Hong-sa, and is implemented in cooperation with partner companies as part of a comprehensive safety and health management approach.
Bando Construction conducted the Safety Relay Campaign in conjunction with a safety and health event to remind on-site employees of the importance of safety in anticipation of the extreme heat. This campaign was organized for all employees of Bando Construction and its partner companies, starting with Lee Jung-ryeol, the representative of the construction sector, to reaffirm the meaning of safety and pledge to observe safety rules.
The campaign video includes messages from Bando Construction and partner company employees who sweat together on-site, discussing the meaning of safety and their commitment to it. It also features video letters to the families of foreign workers. This video, which will be uploaded to Bando Construction's official YouTube channel 'Yubora TV' as well as its official Instagram and blog, will be made public not only to all on-site employees but also to external audiences.
Bando Construction dispatched medical personnel to all sites to assist with health consultations for on-site workers. The intention is to proactively identify health issues that workers may not be aware of to prevent health deterioration and safety accidents.
To support workers and employees sweating in the heat, a food truck event was held to provide cool coffee and beverages, and cool scarves were also distributed. The safety and health events in anticipation of extreme heat will be expanded to a total of two phases, continuing from June into this month.
Lee Jung-ryeol, the representative of Bando Construction's construction sector, said, 'While excellent construction quality is important, the safety and health of on-site workers who strive for this are our top priority.' He added, 'By solidifying our cooperation with partner companies who sweat together on-site and by creating a safe working environment without blind spots, we will work hard to achieve ZERO major accidents again this year.'
