BS Group's Pine Beach Golf Links, located in Haenam County, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 11th that it will host the 'BMW Ladies Championship,' the only official event of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour in Korea, which will be held in October.
The 'BMW Ladies Championship', which will take place over four days from October 16 to 19 at Pine Beach, is being held in a way that tours premium courses across the country, similar to the operating methods of the U.S. Open and the DIO Championship, to establish a unique tradition.
This tournament has decided to host an LPGA competition in Jeollanam-do for the first time in history to showcase Korea's diverse beauty to the world.
Since its opening in 2010, BS Group's Pine Beach has been selected as one of Korea's top 10 courses and has been listed in several best course rankings. Recently, it has also been included in the top 50 golf courses in the Asia-Pacific region.
As a fantastic seaside course, BS Group expects that top LPGA players will demonstrate their best performance along with the beautiful scenery.
Meanwhile, BS Group expects that about 60,000 tournament officials and gallery visitors attending this BMW Ladies Championship will contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
To widely promote the beautiful natural environment of Haenam, Jeollanam-do, and the energy new town 'Solar City' located near Pine Beach, the plan is to operate a Solar City promotional booth at the venue and conduct on-site events to provide various experiences and information.
Solar City, which is being developed by BS Group, is a large-scale public-private partnership urban development project being established on a total site area of 20.9 million square meters (6.32 million pyeong) in Haenam County, Jeollanam-do.
