Cracks have been found inside the 'Olympic Park Foreon' apartment complex in Dunchon-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul. The selling price for a dedicated area of 84 square meters, known as the 국민평형, was in the 1.2 billion won range, but recently, the entry rights have risen to 2.88 billion won.
According to the related industry on the 28th, Hyundai E&C, the construction company of Olympic Park Foreon, along with the Gangdong District Office, is discussing response measures regarding the cracks in the complex. They plan to conduct a precise safety inspection as soon as possible. Olympic Park Foreon is a newly built apartment complex that was occupied in November last year. A recent unscheduled subscription for four units attracted over 224,000 applicants, recording an average competitive ratio of 56,000 to 1, making headlines.
Earlier, the representatives of the Olympic Park Foreon residents sent an official letter to Hyundai E&C requesting a structural safety inspection. The intent is to promptly carry out safety measures regarding the horizontal cracks found on the corridor walls of the 34-story building in the third complex. It is reported that Hyundai E&C has undertaken putty repair work on the cracks adjacent to the windows. Such information has spread through social media, becoming known to the public.
The residents' representative council also filed a related complaint with the Gangdong District Office. Gangdong District is expected to request a comprehensive investigation from all construction companies, including Hyundai E&C, which built the third complex, as well as HDC Hyundai Development Company, Daewoo E&C, and Lotte Engineering & Construction.
