'The third phase new town' Namyangju Wangseok district's main application will commence. This is the first main application for the third phase new towns since the new government was established.
Starting with Namyangju Wangseok, 12,000 public dwellings are scheduled to be supplied in public land in the metropolitan area in the second half of this year.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 24th that the main application (A-1 and A-2 blocks) will commence at the Namyangju Wangseok district.
The total supply quantity for the Namyangju Wangseok A-1 and A-2 blocks is 1,030 dwellings. The supplied dwellings are primarily composed of small units that meet the preferences of actual users, with ground areas of 46㎡, 55㎡, and 59㎡, and are expected to promote substantial housing stability.
The supply blocks are adjacent to Wangseokcheon riverside park and linear park, ensuring a pleasant environment. They have received evaluations as 'a good complex for raising children' due to various child care facilities, including a comprehensive care center.
Pungyang Station (within the Jinjeop 2 district), located near the block, is set to open the extension lines for the 4th and 9th subways. The Namyangju Wangseok district will form a 'triple station area (tentative Wangseok Station)' connecting three railway lines: GTX-B line, Gangdong Hanam Namyangju line (subway line 9 extension), and Gyeongchun line. It will also provide easy access to the interchanges of the Metropolitan Area's First Expressway and Sejong Pocheon Expressway, allowing rapid access to Seoul and key areas in the metropolitan area.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and LH are promoting the establishment of the 'Wangseok Urban Advanced Composite Industrial Complex' covering an area of 1.2 million square meters in the new town. Major leading corporations, such as Kakao data center and Woori Financial Group research and development center, have signed investment agreements (MOU), and the creation of a self-sufficient new town with job creation functions is expected.
The sale prices for the block will be supplied at a reasonable level compared to nearby areas such as Byeollae and Dasan in Namyangju. Although a price ceiling system is applicable and resale restrictions are in place, there is no obligation for actual residence.
The floor plan reflects recent trends, featuring larger living rooms and kitchens, a variety of options, and enhanced storage space through designs like entrance storage and dress rooms.
The recruitment announcement for residents will be on the 24th of this month. Applications will start on August 4th. The announcement of winners and contract signing will proceed sequentially. Occupancy is expected in August 2028.
For newlywed couples without homes, if they meet the qualification requirements regarding income and assets, they can apply for both special and general supplies of the public offering complex.
LH will open a newly built exclusive dwelling exhibition hall in Byeollae-dong, Namyangju (816-1) on the 25th of this month. It has been built as the largest scale among the third phase new towns. During the idle period, the exhibition hall will be opened to local residents for upcycling cultural experiences, small lectures, music concerts, and other cultural arts programs.
The exhibition hall will be open to the public starting from the 26th, the day after its opening. An online cyber model house has also been established.
Kim Bae-seong, head of the public housing promotion team at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, 'This supply marks an important first step towards stabilizing the housing market in the metropolitan area, in line with the new government's policy of expanding supply' and added, 'Starting with the Wangseok district, we will increase the speed of housing supply in the metropolitan area.'
Kim Seong-yeon, head of LH's northern Gyeonggi branch, stated, 'Thanks to the efforts of field staff such as the early completion of compensation and simultaneous commencement of construction, we were able to start the first main application' and added, 'I will do my best to ensure that the Wangseok district can establish itself as a representative self-sufficient new town in the metropolitan area.'
