Booyoung Group announced on the 24th that it has donated 500 million won to the National Disaster Relief Association to support disaster recovery in areas such as Sancheong, Gyeongnam, and Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, which were affected by heavy rainfall.
This donation will be fully used for the recovery of damages such as flooding of dwellings and agricultural losses, as well as support for disaster victims.
Chairman Lee Joong-geun said, "I extend my deepest sympathies to the disaster victims who have lost their homes and are facing difficulties due to the unexpected heavy rainfall," adding, "I hope this can be a small help for the swift recovery of their daily lives."
Booyoung Group has continued to contribute donations and provide apartments whenever disaster or calamity strikes. It has donated funds for the Pohang earthquake in 2017, as well as for damage from wildfires in Gangwon Province and the East Coast in 2019, 2022, and 2023, and has supported disaster victims' housing stability with Booyoung Apartments. In March, it also donated 500 million won to the National Disaster Relief Association for prompt recovery of a large wildfire scene and support for local residents affected by the disaster.
In addition, it has donated funds for ▲support for the victims' families related to the Cheonan sinking ▲crowdfunding support for the Sewol ferry disaster ▲recovery funds for the Gyeongju earthquake ▲recovery funds for the Daegu Seomun Market fire ▲recovery funds for the Yeosu fish market fire, and has actively participated in overseas disaster relief efforts such as ▲Sierra Leone flood relief funds ▲disaster relief funds for Peru and Colombia ▲donations for Laos.
To date, Booyoung Group has donated over 1.2 trillion won to society.
