A green space of 13,000 square meters will be newly established in the heart of Euljiro, Seoul.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 22nd that it finalized a plan to restructure the 4th zone of the Seun Reconstruction Promotion District into "an open green space for citizens" on the 21st.
With this plan, the city expects to secure large-scale open green spaces and establish an urban industrial ecosystem through the introduction of public rental commercial spaces.
The key point of the revised plan is the establishment of an open green space of about 13,100 square meters on part of the private land. The city is currently reorganizing the area from Jongmyo to Toegye-ro into an ecological axis connecting north and south, following the "Green Ecological Urban Renewal Strategy" announced in April 2022, and this revision is part of that initiative.
The city plans to secure approximately 136,000 square meters of green space in phases throughout the entire Seun area.
This plan also lays the groundwork for the parkification of the Seun Commercial District, located in the heart of the city. A total of 96.8 billion won for purchasing the commercial complex is included in the revised plan, securing funding for the actual creation of parks.
Measures to maintain the urban industrial base will also be implemented. The city will newly supply about 160 public rental commercial spaces to support the re-establishment of existing tenants.
