On the 12th, Kim Yoon-deok, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea nominated as the first Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport under the Lee Jae-myung government, stated, "I will quickly supply quality dwellings in preferred locations."
On this day, in remarks shared with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport press corps regarding his nomination as Minister, Kim noted, "The housing market in some areas, including Seoul, is overheating. I will do my utmost for stable market management." He also stated, "It is urgent to recover the difficult economy," and vowed to expand growth drivers through advanced industrial complexes and future mobility.
He emphasized, "We will actively promote policies for balanced national development and resolving disparities in mobility rights, and we will ensure thorough safety management to prevent unfortunate accidents such as sinkholes and aviation disasters from recurring."
Kim, a three-term lawmaker considered a core member of the pro-Lee faction, was appointed as the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport by President Lee Jae-myung on the 11th. Kim conveyed, "Based on years of legislative experience, including in the Land Infrastructure and Transport Committee, I will pursue practical land and transportation policies that the public needs." He added, "I will discuss detailed policy directions at the confirmation hearing," and stated, "I will prepare for the hearing with a sincere attitude."
