The environmental specialist company 'Eido' announced on the 7th that it has been selected as the design and construction contractor for the 'Jeju eastern livestock manure energy conversion facility installation project' being promoted in the Sehwa-ri area of Gujwa-eup, Jeju City.
Eido is responsible for design, procurement, and construction (EPC) in this project. It plans to integrate a non-chemical water treatment system, waste heat recovery system, and information and communication technology (ICT)-based real-time monitoring equipment to enable odor reduction, greenhouse gas reduction, and operational efficiency.
The total project cost is approximately 14.7 billion won, and it will be promoted with support from both the national and local governments. Construction is set to begin within the year, with a goal of completion by 2028.
Through this project, 100 tons (t) of livestock manure per day will be converted into biogas through an anaerobic digestion process. The produced biogas will be used to generate electricity via a cogeneration facility. The waste heat generated during this process will be recovered and used for heating in livestock barns and as a heat source for heating anaerobic digesters.
Additionally, solids in the anaerobic digestion liquid will be processed through composting facilities to be used as high-quality fertilizer. Wastewater will be supplied as water for pig farming through reuse facilities.
