KCC Glass announced on the 7th that it has published the '2024/25 ESG report,' which contains its sustainability management achievements and growth strategy.
KCC Glass is making environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management a core strategy for future growth and is transparently disclosing major issues and performance through its ESG report each year.
This year's report, the fifth published, includes KCC Glass's recent core ESG-related activities such as ▲linking ESG strategic goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) ▲developing innovative products to secure growth drivers ▲enhancing the dual materiality assessment.
In this report, KCC Glass disclosed three strategic directions based on its ESG strategic goal of being "an innovative corporation pursuing sustainability": ▲a corporation that coexists with the environment ▲a corporation that respects people ▲a trusted corporation. It plans to quantify goals and performance by linking detailed execution tasks to KPIs and continuously monitor the progress of work to systematically and transparently manage achievements.
It also revealed achievements in developing innovative products to secure future growth drivers. The major products that KCC Glass is developing by incorporating advanced technology to respond to new market demands include ▲glass for vehicles with transparent antennas ▲smart glass that can adjust transparency ▲glass substrates for semiconductor packaging.
The report also contains details on enhancing the dual materiality assessment. The dual materiality assessment is a procedure that derives and evaluates important issues by comprehensively considering the impact of ESG issues on the financial performance of corporations (financial materiality) and the impact of corporate activities on the environment and society (impact materiality).
This year, a new financial impact assessment based on budget and expense data has been introduced in the evaluation process. A variety of perspectives were reflected through stakeholder surveys and focus group interviews (FGI) with external experts and internal employees.
This report strengthens the reliability and systematic nature of ESG information by applying the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
A KCC Glass official noted, "We are making efforts to quantify relevant goals and achievements and establish a performance-oriented ESG management system to ensure that sustainable management continues," adding, "We will also strengthen sustainable management to achieve ESG strategic goals and strive for smooth communication with stakeholders through the publication of the ESG report."
KCC Glass earned an 'A' rating in ESG evaluations from the Korea ESG Standards Institute (KCGS) and Sustainalytics last year. This year, it received the 'Gold Medal' rating for the third consecutive year in the sustainability assessment from EcoVadis, a global evaluation agency. Recently, KCC Glass was ranked 12th among corporations with assets exceeding 2 trillion won in the '2025 First Half ESG Best Companies 100' announced by Sustainalytics.
