On the 30th, environmental specialty company YIDO announced that it will establish a 'smart ecological factory' in the clean area of Jeju.
This project is part of the government-supported '2025 Smart Ecological Factory Construction Project.' YIDO plans to transform its establishment 'YIDO Eco Jeju' into a state-of-the-art eco-friendly factory.
Through this project, it is expected to achieve an annual reduction of 332 tons (t) of greenhouse gases and a savings of 557,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity.
This project is a government initiative that targets small and medium-sized manufacturers, supporting the establishment of eco-friendly infrastructure through the conversion to low-carbon, high-efficiency facilities and optimization of energy and resource operations.
In this project, YIDO presented a resource circulation-based smart processing factory model within its business site in the clean area of Jeju. Specifically, it plans to introduce new high-efficiency and low-carbon facilities by replacing existing equipment entirely, including ▲aggregate screening facilities ▲solar power generation systems ▲Factory Energy Management Systems (FEMS) ▲high-efficiency compressors and inverter motors, as well as introducing eco-friendly devices such as ▲low-noise large-scale sprinklers ▲oil-water separators.
The policy uses FEMS's real-time monitoring and automation functions to control real-time energy usage and emissions for each facility, significantly reducing maintenance expenses and accident risks.
Through this project, YIDO is expected to significantly enhance its external credibility by registering as an eco-friendly exemplary business site, improving ESG evaluation indicators, and securing preferential points for national projects.
In particular, the smart design that integrates energy recovery and resource circulation structures is being evaluated as a carbon-neutral industrial model that can be expanded and applied to national industrial complexes and public infrastructure in the future.
