On the 27th, Korea's top construction project management (PM) company, HanmiGlobal, announced that it ranked first in the capital goods institutional sector in the '2025 first half ESG assessment' published by SustainBest, the representative ESG evaluation organization in Korea.
HanmiGlobal recorded the highest score in the capital goods institutional sector, which includes construction and heavy industry, and was the only company in the PM industry selected as one of the '2025 Top 100 Excellent Corporations in ESG' for the first half of the year.
Since introducing ESG assessment for the first time in Korea in 2006, SustainBest has evaluated the ESG management levels of approximately 1,300 listed and unlisted corporations twice a year. This first half, a total of 1,295 corporations were assessed comprehensively based on their management conditions related to environmental, social, and governance factors, with grades ranging from A to E across seven levels (AA-A-BB-B-C-D-E).
HanmiGlobal achieved a score of 99.25, the highest level among all corporations in this first half ESG assessment, obtaining the top grade of 'AA', maintaining this highest rating for eight consecutive years since 2018.
HanmiGlobal has actively participated in renewable energy construction projects to transition to a low-carbon economy. Over the past 10 years, based on the technological expertise accumulated from various renewable energy construction projects such as solar power and wind power, the company has provided PM services for cumulative renewable energy generation projects totaling 4.6 gigawatts (GW). Ongoing technical development aims to enhance sustainability across the entire project process from planning, design, construction, to operation, while providing customers with one-stop services related to environment, energy, and climate change response.
Through its subsidiary Eco-Sian, HanmiGlobal provides comprehensive consulting on environmental issues with advanced energy management systems and accumulated big data analysis, leading the expansion of eco-friendly construction technologies.
In the social sector, HanmiGlobal recorded a perfect score of 100 points in the 'social contribution and community' category for three consecutive years. Since its establishment in 1996, the company has continued its charitable contributions by having all members donate 1% of their salary each month, supported by the company matching that donation with an amount twice the contributed amount through a 'double matching grant' system.
The company also established a 'Social Contribution Committee' to discuss all matters related to social contribution activities and has designated the fourth Saturday of every month as Social Contribution Day to encourage member volunteer activities since its early days.
In 2010, HanmiGlobal established the social welfare organization 'Warm Companionship' to support space welfare for the disabled, provide advanced assistive devices, create jobs, engage in international development cooperation, and support North Korean defectors through various social contribution activities.
In terms of governance, to strengthen board independence and transparent management, HanmiGlobal separated the position of the representative director and the board chair, appointing an outside director as the chair.
In 2021, HanmiGlobal established the 'ESG Committee' within the board to reform its ESG management system and continually check its sustainability management strategies and directions, systematically reinforcing ESG management. HanmiGlobal published the '2024 Sustainability Management Report' containing these ESG management achievements and strategies.
