The Seoul Station North Area complex development project involves constructing a large-scale complex that combines exhibition, convention, office, residential, and hotel spaces on the unused railway land north of Seoul Station, with a total project cost of approximately 3.1 trillion won.

The center consists of a safety education center, a safety and health experience center, and a smart integrated monitoring room, and is operated by safety experts, including the general center manager.

The safety education center installs tablet PCs at 50 individual seats to provide effective safety education for new and training employees. It has improved workers' understanding and satisfaction with education by allowing for personalized learning pace and customized training by work type. Additionally, in response to the increasing trend of foreign workers, the tablet PCs support more than six languages, including English, Chinese, and Vietnamese, addressing communication issues for foreign workers.

The safety and health experience center is designed to allow individuals to experience seven major accident scenarios directly, including falling from heights, being trapped, and electrical shocks. It provides hands-on education that mimics actual construction site situations, including impact experiences with safety helmets and shoes, high-altitude work platform simulations, and A-frame ladder tipping tests. Additionally, through 4D simulations of 15 types of disaster scenarios, including falls from openings and scaffolding collapses, workers can effectively respond to actual disaster situations without panic.

The smart integrated monitoring room serves as a control tower for safety by monitoring various operations on-site through CCTV and controlling high-risk tasks in real time to prevent accidents. Workers can check their location and routes and assess dangerous situations using smart safety helmets and tags. A mobile application allows remote notifications to on-site managers and workers regarding operational and equipment hazards.

Song Jae-hyeong, the site manager for the Seoul Station North Area complex development project, noted, "We plan to do our utmost to prevent safety accidents through an integrated smart safety management system that combines education, experience, and monitoring." He added, "Above all, the active participation of workers is key to construction safety, and we will strive to strengthen communication with workers."
