Daewoo E&C is likely to achieve its management goals this year through consecutive orders both domestically and internationally.
According to the construction industry on the 25th, Daewoo E&C has succeeded in signing a main contract for the new nuclear power construction project in the Czech Republic, which faced difficulties this year, leading to expectations for contracts worth trillions of won. Shortly after a Czech court ruled the injunction request as invalid, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) and the Czech Power Company signed the main contract through electronic signatures.
Daewoo E&C has also achieved results in pioneering new overseas markets in Central Asia. In May, Chairman Jung Won-joo signed the main contract for a mineral fertilizer plant construction project in Turkmenistan worth 1 trillion won, which he has been steadily focusing on. As a result, Daewoo E&C has made its first entry into the Central Asian market, including Turkmenistan.
Chairman Jung has spent the last three years traveling around Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America, meeting with key officials and corporate executives from various countries to build a network. He has worked to pioneer new markets and diversify the business portfolio. The construction project in Kien Giang, Vietnam, which received investor approval last year, and the mineral fertilizer plant construction project in Turkmenistan for which the main contract was signed this year are considered representative achievements of his efforts.
Last month, Chairman Jung visited Indonesia, meeting with President Joko Widodo to discuss ways to expand business in various sectors, including real estate development, infrastructure construction, and petrochemical plants.
On the 18th, he visited Mozambique in Africa, where he met with President Daniel Chapo to discuss cooperation for local business progress and expansion. Daewoo E&C continues to promote expansion in the African construction market based on the experience and competitiveness gained in Nigeria and Botswana.
In the domestic market, Daewoo E&C has recently won bids for public and urban redevelopment projects, accelerating efforts to improve its structure through the establishment of a quality portfolio. They participated as the lead underwriter in the construction of the southern breakwater of Jinhae New Port, achieving first place in design review, and successfully won the bidding as a qualified designer in the Gwacheon Woomyeonsan urban expressway relocation project.
In the urban redevelopment sector, Daewoo E&C was selected as the contractor for the reconstruction project of the Gangnam Wonhyosung Villas, reaffirming its competitiveness in constructing luxury residential complexes, as seen in projects like Hannam The Hill, Gwacheon Prugio Summit, and Seocho Prugio Summit.
Daewoo E&C is currently mobilizing its capabilities for the redevelopment project of the Gaepo Woosung 7th, presenting the best design and business conditions while pushing for active business expansion in key redevelopment projects in the Gangnam area.
