Hyundai E&C announced on the 20th that it has unveiled 'AI-based customized sleep environment setting technology.'
Hyundai E&C's smart sleep environment solution 'Hey, Sleep' integrates AI-based sleep data analysis and automation technology to control various sleep environment factors such as brightness, humidity, ventilation, and sound insulation.
It features automated adjustments to the most ideal conditions by learning the user's sleep patterns. It can create a customized sleep environment based on individual lifestyles and biological rhythms.
'Hey, Sleep' offers meditation content to alleviate tension before sleep and provides sleep-inducing music and breathing programs. In the morning, it plays positive messages, quotes, and motivational audio.
An attention-grabbing aspect is the active care system based on data. If frequent tossing and turning or abnormal patterns are detected during sleep, the AI analyzes them and automatically adjusts humidity or ventilation settings for that time period. It accumulates sleep data to provide individualized reports or can be shared as basic health information among family members.
Hyundai E&C has obtained the 'Good Sleep Mark Gold', the first sleep environment quality certification in the country, through Hey, Sleep.
'Good Sleep Mark' is an official certification program operated by the Korea Sleep Industry Association, approved by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. It is a sleep environment quality certification given to products and services that contribute substantially to quality sleep. Among these, the 'Gold grade' is the top certification, recognized for the highest level of quality. According to a representative of Hyundai E&C, it proves technological competency and product value in aspects of originality, verified physiological effects, spatial applicability, user experience excellence, and industrial impact.
This certification is the first case of designing an entire residential space as sleep-friendly rather than just a single product like beds or mattresses.
Hyundai E&C is collaborating with healthcare companies that possess sleep sensing, sound, and air control technologies to enhance the completeness of smart sleep residential environments.
In particular, it is working with the sleep tech company 'Asleep' to jointly develop an app-based sleep monitoring system and environmental control algorithms. The AI sensing-based sleep analysis function of Hey, Sleep has also been realized through collaboration with Asleep.
They have also applied for two patents related to sleep environments, including AI-based non-contact sleep analysis technology and space control algorithms. Clinical research will be conducted at the verification facilities of Yongin Technology Research Institute and specialized hospitals to scientifically validate the sleep control algorithms. The research results aim to be presented at international conferences and published in academic journals, strengthening the academic foundation of sleep environment technology.
A representative of Hyundai E&C noted, 'As interest in healthy and sustainable living increases, the role of future housing will become more important,' adding that they plan to expand residential spaces that promote health by proposing Hey, Sleep as a specialized technology in key project sites, including the Apgujeong 2 District.
