HDC Hyundai Development Company announced on the 23rd that it will create about half of the area of the Yongsan Maintenance Depot Block 1 site in Yongsan District, Seoul, as green spaces, including parks, gardens, and walkways.
HDC Hyundai Development Company noted, "Through collaboration with Samsung C&T's resort division, we plan to transform approximately 44% of the Yongsan Maintenance Depot site (1,2667 pyeong) into green spaces, thereby realizing 'nature within the city' and achieving a high-end lifestyle."
HDC Hyundai Development Company explained that this area is nearly twice as large as the green space of 3,076 pyeong (about 24% of the site) proposed by POSCO.
The green spaces to be created by HDC Hyundai Development Company at the Yongsan Maintenance Depot Block 1 will consist of a grand park, eight private theme gardens, six central plazas, and three types of walkways. The centerpiece is the enormous 'grand park,' which accounts for 25.6% of the total site area. The eight private theme gardens will be equipped with cutting-edge landscaping solutions and eco-friendly management technologies from Samsung C&T's resort division.
Additionally, a three-dimensional walkway network will be established, connecting the Healthy Trail to Yongsan Park and the Han River, the urban trail within the complex, and the hanging trail extending from the sky community.
A representative of HDC Hyundai Development Company said, "The Yongsan Maintenance Depot Block 1 project will set a new standard for a futuristic complex city where nature and urban life coexist, going beyond simple residential, commercial, and office spaces. Through collaboration with Samsung C&T's resort division, which possesses world-class technology and performance, we will present a new landmark that befits Yongsan to residents as well as domestic and international visitors."
