Hyundai Engineering announced on the 20th that it has launched the 'Spring 2025 Donation Campaign' and held a delivery ceremony for donated items.
The delivery ceremony held at the Hyundai Engineering headquarters on the 19th was attended by Um Hong-seok, head of the Communication Office at Hyundai Engineering, and Song Dong-geun, director of the Goodwill Store Millal Ilsan Branch, among other officials.
Since 2017, Hyundai Engineering has been conducting a campaign to donate clothing, goods, books, everyday items, and home appliances twice a year to the vocational rehabilitation facility for people with disabilities, 'Goodwill Store,' with the participation of its employees. The donated items are sorted, processed, and packaged by the disabled workers at Goodwill Store before being sold to general consumers.
This year's spring donation campaign involved 366 employees of Hyundai Engineering, who contributed 9,258 items. So far, a total of over 120,000 items have been donated by 6,943 employees and partner company employees.
Hyundai Engineering has been carrying out continuous social contribution activities in cooperation with the Millal Welfare Foundation since 2017 to create jobs for people with disabilities and establish a foundation for economic independence.
Through the Love Sharing Fund raised by employee donations, a total of three new Goodwill Store locations have been opened to date: Millal Ilsan Branch, Millal Tanhyeon Branch, and Millal Baekseok Branch. Employees regularly engage in volunteer activities, supporting work such as item sorting.
A representative from Hyundai Engineering noted, "The Goodwill Store donation campaign is a participatory activity that supports the independence of people with disabilities, and the employees' voluntary and consistent participation is a great strength." They added, "We plan to cultivate authenticity by planning new social contribution activities rather than simple sponsorships to improve the quality of life for vulnerable groups."
