The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 1st that it held three general meetings of the 'Housing Lease Fraud Victim Support Committee' throughout April, reviewing 1,905 cases and finally approving a total of 874 cases as victims of housing lease fraud.
Among the approved 874 cases, 764 cases were new applications (including resubmissions), and 110 cases had objections raised against existing decisions, confirming the eligibility of victims of housing lease fraud under Article 3 of the Housing Lease Fraud Victims Act, leading to their designation as victims of housing lease fraud and others.
Among the remaining 1,031 cases, 552 cases were rejected due to unmet requirements, 201 cases were excluded from application as full refunds of deposits were possible through guarantee insurance and priority repayment funds, and 278 cases were dismissed as the requirements were still unmet among the objections raised.
To date, the committee has determined a total of 29,540 cases (cumulative) of victims of housing lease fraud, and a total of 980 cases (cumulative) have been decided for emergency cooperation requests for suspension of eviction and public sale. Support for a total of 29,421 cases (cumulative) has been provided to the determined victims and others, covering housing, finance, legal procedures, and more.
