Daewoo E&C announced on the 28th that it was selected as the construction company at the general meeting of the Gunpo District 1 redevelopment project on the 27th, successfully securing its first contract for a maintenance project this year.
This project involves the construction of 932 apartment units in 10 buildings with a scale of 4 basement floors and 29 above-ground floors in the area of 731 Dang-dong, Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, with a construction cost of 298.1 billion won.
Daewoo E&C proposed the project name as "Gunpo Prugio Brivenue." It noted that it would apply a design for a landmark that has not existed in Gunpo and an exterior design that blends with nature.
Daewoo E&C plans to create landscaped spaces such as a central plaza, a water garden, and a walking trail named "Forest Walk," and introduce community facilities including a Prugio-exclusive greenery café, golf course, table tennis room, senior club, and reading room.
District 1 of Gunpo is the first site secured by Daewoo E&C in the redevelopment area of Gunpo City. Daewoo E&C expects it to serve as a foothold for additional contracts in Gunpo City's redevelopment projects in the future.
A spokesperson for Daewoo E&C said, "We are implementing a selective bidding strategy focused on prime sites in Seoul and the metropolitan area this year," adding that they plan to actively pursue contracts, starting with the Gunpo District 1 redevelopment project, as well as the ongoing selections for construction companies for the Yongsan Cheongpa District 1 redevelopment, Seocho Wonhyo Villa reconstruction, and Gangnam Gaepo Woosung District 7 reconstruction.
