SK Ecoplant is reported to be pursuing a plan to incorporate SK Materials as a subsidiary on the 28th.
SK plans to hold a board meeting as early as this May to deliberate and vote on the plan to transfer SK Materials to SK Ecoplant as a subsidiary.
SK Ecoplant incorporated industrial gas corporation SK Air Plus and semiconductor module corporation Essencore as subsidiaries last year. Now, it aims to merge SK Materials into SK Ecoplant.
Last year, SK Ecoplant's operating profit was 234.6 billion won, an increase of 49% compared to the previous year, due to strong performances from its subsidiaries.
SK Materials is a material technology specialist that was acquired by SK Group from OCI in 2016. It focuses on the production, sale, and integrated operation services of key materials required for semiconductors, displays, and batteries.
