The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport noted that in the fourth quarter of last year, the amount of construction contracts recorded 75.2 trillion won, an increase of 4.4% compared to the same period the previous year.

The public sector increased by 22.8% to 27.4 trillion won, while the private sector decreased by 3.8% to 47.7 trillion won.

By type of work, civil engineering (including industrial facilities and landscaping) decreased by 19.1% to 18.6 trillion won, while construction increased by 15.4% to 56.6 trillion won.

By company size, the top 1-50 corporations increased by 12.0% to 35.4 trillion won, while corporations ranked 51-100 rose by 28.8% to 6.3 trillion won. Corporations ranked 101-300 decreased by 4.9% to 6.1 trillion won, and those ranked 301-1000 increased by 10.6% to 5.6 trillion won. Other corporations declined by 9.5% to 21.7 trillion won.

By project location, the metropolitan area increased by 12.1% to 39.9 trillion won compared to the same period the previous year, while non-metropolitan areas decreased by 3.1% to 35.3 trillion won.

By headquarters location, the metropolitan area increased by 4.7% to 47.3 trillion won, while non-metropolitan areas increased by 4.0% to 27.8 trillion won.
