Booyoung Group said on the 28th that it donated 500 million won to the Korea Disaster Relief Association on the 27th to support the rapid recovery of large-scale wildfire damage and help residents in affected areas across the country.

Booyoung Group decided to donate this sum to help residents in affected areas who are facing significant difficulties due to the unexpected wildfire damage, enabling them to return to their daily lives as soon as possible, including firefighting, damage recovery, and assistance for disaster victims. The 500 million won donated to the Korea Disaster Relief Association by Booyoung Group is set to be used for emergency relief activities and the provision of daily necessities for recovery at the sites of large-scale wildfires spreading nationwide, including in Gyeongsang Province.

Lee Joong-geun, chairman of Booyoung Group, said, "We decided to donate this sum to convey our sympathy to the residents of the affected areas who are deeply saddened by this large wildfire and to contribute to the rapid recovery of the damage," adding, "I hope that the wildfire will be extinguished soon and that the victims do not lose hope and quickly regain their daily lives."

Booyoung Group has consistently provided donations and apartment support whenever disasters or calamities occur. Notably, it provided hundreds of millions of won in donations during the Pohang earthquake in 2017 and supported the housing stability of disaster victims by providing Booyoung apartments, in addition to supporting wildfire victims in Gangwon Province and the East Coast in 2019, 2022, and 2023.

In addition, Booyoung Group has actively responded to national disaster situations, including the support fund for families of victims of the sinking of the Cheonan, the fund raised for supporting the victims of the Sewol ferry disaster, donations for the recovery from the Gyeongju earthquake, and funds for the recovery from the Daegu Seomun Market fire. The company fulfills its social responsibility by contributing relief funds for overseas disaster areas, including those related to flood relief in Sierra Leone and for disaster relief in Peru and Colombia. The total amount donated by Booyoung Group to society exceeds 1.2 trillion won.
