Hyundai Engineering announced on the 28th that three works submitted for the '2025 Asia Design Prize' (ASIA DESIGN PRIZE) in the institutional sector of space and architecture won awards.
The Asia Design Prize is the largest international design competition in Asia, established in 2016. It selects the best designs in Asia through in-depth evaluations based on aesthetics, innovation, new technologies, and forms. This year, a panel of 42 judges evaluated 1,879 works submitted from 22 countries to select the winners.
Hyundai Engineering submitted designs for 'Munju' of 'Hillstate e편한세상 Munjeong,' 'Healthy Pleasure Park' of 'Hillstate YonginGojin Station,' and 'H Gallery Garden,' and was selected as a 'Winner.'
The Munju at Hillstate e편한세상 Munjeong showcased a diagonal linear design that connects the apartment entrance to the shopping area, breaking away from the typical rectangular pillar design by utilizing stone.
Using glass and metal materials, along with LED lighting, they applied a curtain wall method extensively used in designing the apartment exterior wall, connecting it to the Munju. The design enables a public walking path that connects directly from the adjacent park to the central area, while simultaneously accommodating the entrance to the underground parking lot to prevent vehicle traffic within the complex.
Healthy Pleasure Park is a nature-friendly complex theme park design that integrates health, leisure, and play in a residential area. Unlike the existing apartments that arranged playgrounds, exercise facilities, and rest areas separately within a spacious apartment complex, this design consolidates single-purpose spaces into a highly utilized complex space. It offers the advantage of allowing resident families, including parents and children, to enjoy leisure activities in a single space.
H Gallery Garden is a central green space where residents can appreciate natural scenery in their daily lives. It has been designed with a variety of trees planted and natural stones installed to create a forest-like atmosphere.
Various water features, including fountains, waterways, and mist, have been placed to provide different sounds of water during walks. A tea house has been provided on one side, offering a space to relax and enjoy nature after a stroll.
A representative from Hyundai Engineering noted, 'Hyundai Engineering is developing various designs so that residents of the apartments constructed by Hyundai Engineering can enjoy a comfortable rest and pleasant leisure through landscaping and facilities of the apartments.' They added, 'In the future, we will contribute to enhancing residents' quality of life through differentiated designs unique to Hyundai Engineering.'
