A 49-story residential complex and performance hall will be built on the site of a Homeplus store in Dongdaemun District, Seoul.
Seoul City noted on the 27th that it held the 5th Urban and Architecture Joint Committee meeting on the 26th and amended and approved the 'Yongdu Station Area Unit Plan.'
The target site is adjacent to Yongdu Station on Line 2 and the Dongdaemun District Office, where the building currently operates as the Homeplus Dongdaemun branch.
According to this decision, there will be 408 housing units across six underground floors and 49 above-ground floors, a performance hall with 500 seats, and retail facilities.
Considering the Cheonggyecheon scenery, the skyline was arranged, and open spaces such as a front square and public walkways will be created.
A Seoul City official said, “The area around the project site will leap to become a new center of Dongdaemun District, where residential, cultural, and commercial functions harmonize.”
