Samsung E&A has signed a contract for the main construction of the bio-materials plant in Songdo with the global life sciences corporation Sartorius Korea Operations LLC.

On Nov. 21, Samsung E&A signs a contract for the main construction of the 'Sartorius Songdo Campus Project' worth 518.6 billion won with Sartorius. On the 21st, Samsung E&A announced on the 24th that it had signed a main construction contract worth 518.6 billion won for the "Sartorius Songdo Campus Project." The signing ceremony, held at the Global Engineering Center (GEC) at Samsung E&A's headquarters in Sangil-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, was attended by Namgoong Hong, CEO of Samsung E&A, and Kim Deok-sang, CEO of Sartorius Korea Operations, along with executives from both companies.

This plant is a production and research facility for bio-pharmaceutical materials to be built in the Incheon Songdo Free Economic Zone. Upon completion, it will produce single-use bags for bio-pharmaceutical production, membrane filters for pharmaceuticals, and cell culture media, and it will provide non-clinical Contract Research Organization (CRO) services. Samsung E&A will exclusively carry out equipment procurement and construction work, with completion expected in 2027.

A representative from Samsung E&A noted, "With our rich execution experience, differentiated innovation, and technology, we will successfully carry out the project and further strengthen our position in the bio-plant market."
