On the 21st, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it modified and approved the 'Amsa District unit plan amendment' at the first Urban and Architecture Joint Committee's authority subcommittee meeting held on the 20th.
The target site consists of 8 lots including 513-16 Amsa-dong in Gangdong-gu, where Hyundai Department Store's training center is located. It is close to Amsa Station on Subway Line 8.
The amendment to the unit plan was promoted according to residents' suggestions from the Hyundai Department Store training center to improve the aging existing facilities and expand the workspace.
With the passage of this review, the Hyundai Department Store training center can build office facilities by utilizing adjacent land. Exceptions for maximum development scale and changes in joint development (designated) have led to relaxed regulations on development area and height, and the workspace is expected to expand.
In addition, there are plans to establish public notices for local residents and create public spaces that can be shared, such as classrooms.
Jo Nam-jun, head of the Seoul Urban Space Headquarters, said, "We expect that the expansion of office facility scale through this unit plan amendment will contribute to increasing the resident population and enhancing the functions of the Amsa district center, as well as revitalizing the local economy."
