GS Engineering and Construction announced on the 14th that it will significantly revamp its talent development program for 2025 to enhance organizational competitiveness and secure a global competitive edge in a rapidly changing business environment.
Last year, GS Engineering and Construction established four annual training programs to strengthen the expertise of on-site personnel, which are crucial to construction companies. The newly established 'Pre-CM course' focused not only on basic competencies such as leadership and communication skills required as a Construction Manager (CM) but also placed emphasis on practical capability enhancement in areas like initial site establishment management, site profit management, and construction-related laws, garnering great response from participants.
This year, GS Engineering and Construction plans to add a 'Pre-PD course' to cultivate field experts and enhance the leadership and project management capabilities of Project Directors (PD) who are the top executives at each plant site. In addition to the in-house training programs, GS Engineering and Construction has decided to expand its degree and non-degree programs in collaboration with universities, including graduate schools specializing in real estate, starting this year.
An overseas training program aimed at enhancing the global sensitivity of outstanding talent has also been established and strengthened. A key program will be the 'GS Beyond Innovation course' held in Silicon Valley, USA, and a new 'UW Management course' will be introduced at the University of Washington (UW) campus in Seattle.
The 'GS Beyond Innovation course' aims to provide insights into future industries through innovative case studies of global corporations and will be conducted for selected executives and leaders. The UW Management course, which will be introduced for the first time this year, will focus on various topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) and climate change, allowing participants to attend in-depth lectures by UW faculty and share their analysis and ideas through presentations to nurture talent who will grow into future managers.
