Korea Real Estate Board and Real Estate R114 announced on the 14th the 'information on expected occupancy volume of apartment complexes' produced jointly.
The 'information on expected occupancy volume of apartment complexes' is data produced through collaboration between Korea Real Estate Board and Real Estate R114, with a reference point at the end of December 2024, projecting the expected occupancy volume of apartment complexes from January 2025 to December 2026.
The disclosed expected occupancy volume information was calculated using the housing construction performance data, occupant recruitment announcement information, maintenance project performance, and Real Estate R114 data held by both Korea Real Estate Board and Real Estate R114.
According to the data, the total expected occupancy volume nationwide from this year to next year is 465,133 dwellings. Among them, the expected occupancy volume nationwide this year is 274,360 dwellings. The metropolitan area accounts for 140,114 dwellings, with Gyeonggi Province having the largest share at 71,472 dwellings, followed by Seoul (46,710 dwellings) and Incheon (21,932 dwellings). In the provinces, Gyeongnam has the highest number at 22,224 dwellings.
The expected occupancy volume nationwide for next year is recorded at 197,730 dwellings. The metropolitan area has 101,083 dwellings, while Gyeonggi has 61,712 dwellings, Seoul has 24,462 dwellings, and Incheon has 14,909 dwellings. In the provinces, Busan has the highest number with 11,870 dwellings planned.
To improve accuracy, verification by local governments, aggregation of actual construction starting points for maintenance projects, and reflection of changes such as work stoppages and schedule changes were incorporated, and Korea Real Estate Board noted that changes occurring after the reference point may not be reflected due to the nature of volume estimation.
