Lotte Engineering & Construction announced on the 10th that it has strengthened safety management by establishing safety inspection centers in three regions: the metropolitan area, Yeongnam, and Honam.
On the 7th, Lotte Engineering & Construction held the opening ceremony for the regional safety inspection center at the metropolitan safety inspection center located in Dongjak-gu, Seoul. The ceremony was attended by Chief Safety Officer (CSO) Park Young-cheon and other key safety and health officials from Lotte Engineering & Construction.
Lotte Engineering & Construction explained that it plans to establish a regional continuous inspection system to continuously check for risk factors and respond swiftly by utilizing work stoppage rights when serious accidents are detected, as well as to prevent them proactively.
It plans to monitor and manage the blind spots of high-risk sites where safety management is poor or weak through CCTV in conjunction with the headquarters' safety situation center. Each regional safety inspection center will deploy not only safety personnel but also technical personnel to provide technical safety inspection support and on-site guidance.
Lotte Engineering & Construction stated that it expects to enhance responsibility awareness for workers' safety by preventing accident-related damages in advance and strengthening measures to prevent recurrence.
A representative from Lotte Engineering & Construction noted, "The opening of the regional safety inspection center is part of the three core strategies newly established this year to instill a safety consciousness centered on the site" and added, "In the future, we will respond more swiftly to on-site safety management centered around the safety inspection center and strengthen support for site-centered safety activities."
