Another case has emerged where a private developer canceled a project after receiving pre-application for apartments. At the end of last year, the housing construction project for the A2 block in Wonju, Gangwon was canceled, increasing the total number of canceled private pre-application complexes to 8.
According to materials submitted on the 9th by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) to Lee Yeon-hee, a member of the National Assembly from the Democratic Party, it was planned for 411 units of the 'ES Atrium' apartment, with each unit having a dedicated area of 84㎡, to be built by ES Construction in the A2 block.
At that time, the estimated selling price for a unit of 84㎡ was between 371.89 million won and 374.07 million won, but only 13 applicants emerged from the 350 units that were available for pre-application.
Afterwards, all 13 selected applicants withdrew, suggesting that there were no adverse effects for the winners.
After confirming the low number of sales applications, ES Construction changed its housing construction project plan in January last year to build rental dwellings in the A2 block, but eventually withdrew from the project.
Among the pre-application complexes where projects were canceled, the Dongtan 2 C28 block, Yeongjong Sky City A41 block, and Paju Unjeong District 3-4 blocks are set to have LH resell the land and select a private developer again.
Incheon Gajeong District 2 B2 block will have public rental housing supplied directly by LH. Yeongjong International City A16 block will have the existing developer, Jeil Construction, switch its business model to public support for private rental.
