POSCO Engineering & Construction is partnering with residential, care, and medical related corporations to make a full-scale entry into the senior residency business.
POSCO Engineering & Construction announced on the 6th that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) for operational collaboration in senior residences with corporations specialized in housing, care, and medical services, including Ascott, Daekyo New Eve, Chahum Clinic, and Cha Healthcare at The Shop Gallery in Jagok-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
In the past two years, POSCO Engineering & Construction has worked with over 50 specialized service companies to secure operational capabilities for senior residences and has established a service map that segments into 14 areas. Subsequently, POSCO Engineering & Construction identified housing, care, and medical sectors as its three core services and selected specialized corporations.
Ascott, the world's largest service residence hotel and senior residence operator, plans to collaborate in the housing sector by creating a differentiated operational platform for the senior residence business.
Daekyo New Eve will be responsible for the care sector by providing services necessary to enhance the mental and physical health of seniors through planning nursing programs for those aged 75 and older and collaborating on dementia prevention education content. Chahum Clinic and Cha Healthcare plan to support a healthy and vibrant senior lifestyle through high-end health check-ups and anti-aging services as well as an online and offline healthcare platform for residents.
Through this memorandum of understanding, POSCO Engineering & Construction plans to discover senior residence and various forms of corporate rental businesses, serving as the control tower responsible for planning overall operations. The company will also develop and plan sector-specific services with each specialized corporation and establish standardized service operation manuals to be applied in future projects. These manuals are intended to be implemented in rental businesses in Hannan-dong, Seoul, and Osan, Gyeonggi Province, being considered for promotion by POSCO Engineering & Construction this year.
A representative from POSCO Engineering & Construction noted, "With the signing of this MOU, we will form a dream team for the senior residence business, completing the service provision network, and we plan to continuously develop specialized services and collaborate with competitive partner companies in the future." The representative added, "We will also actively collaborate with companies interested in the construction and operation of senior residences."
