Dongbu Corporation demonstrated smart safety management and major accident prevention technology using drones at construction sites.
Dongbu Corporation noted on the 6th that it held a demonstration event on the theme of 'safety supervision and inspection using drones' at the 'Construction of the Korea Football Comprehensive Center' site, through collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The event featured various cases of drone use in the construction sector shared through a special lecture by Dongbu Corporation's site employees, alongside demonstrations of using drones to inspect safety conditions at the football comprehensive center site.
Attendees included Choi Tae-ho, the director of the accident prevention policy at the Ministry of Employment and Labor; Choi Jong-soo, head of the Cheonan branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor; and Park Il-ki, the head of the promotion team for the Korea Football Association, along with about 80 participants from the Ministry of Employment and Labor, contracting authority, and construction stakeholders.
On this day, Dongbu Corporation introduced various smart site management statuses using drones. In particular, it showcased a 3D construction site based on detailed survey data to identify potential errors and issues beforehand, enabling accurate material estimates and simulations for site management. Furthermore, demonstrations supporting major accident prevention through drone reconnaissance were conducted.
Additionally, discussions were held regarding integrated management of information collected by construction companies through drones, and measures for major accident prevention activities, including identifying high-risk sites using AI and establishing countermeasures.
A representative from Dongbu Corporation stated, 'Currently, we are actively utilizing drones across various fields, including safety management, quality control, and maintenance.' They added, 'As smart construction is recognized as an essential element for enhancing the competitiveness of our country's construction industry, we plan to strengthen productivity and revenue by expanding the scope of active application and implementing safety management more thoroughly.'
