The Seoul city government stated on the 24th that the satisfaction rate among union members for the electronic voting activation pilot project for maintenance projects was recorded at 98%. Previously, the city had conducted a pilot project supporting the expense of electronic voting for union general meetings and delegates following the government's '8·8 measures' last year.
Starting with the reconstruction union of the Mi-seong-dong Gun-young Apartments in October last year, the Seoul city government provided electronic voting services for a total of 10 unions, including the reconstruction union of the Seocho Shin-dong A Apartments last month. On the 14th, a performance sharing meeting was also held in the large meeting room of the Seosomun Government Complex Building 1.
The average participation rate for electronic voting across the 10 unions was 48.2%. The reconstruction union of the Seocho Shin-dong A Apartments showed a maximum electronic voting rate of 64.5%.
The period for prior voting for general meetings, which usually took more than three weeks, was shortened to about 3 to 12 days, saving manpower and time, and the time required for counting written resolutions during the general meetings was also reduced.
A survey conducted on 420 electronic voting users about their satisfaction with the service found that 98% reported they were 'satisfied,' while 97.1% noted that it was 'more convenient than existing methods' regarding the ease of adoption.
Choi Jin-seok, head of the dwellings division of Seoul, noted, 'Based on the pilot project, this year we are actively implementing the activation project for electronic voting and online general meetings for maintenance projects,' and added, 'We plan to hold additional public recruitment around March and April, so we hope more maintenance project unions will participate.'
